The 120,000 or so businesspeople who work in Marunouchi, the center of the Japanese economy, and the target of the Tokyo Marunouchi Partnership‘s (TMP) mission vision, are 99.9% non-Christians. These businesspersons have never heard the meaning and purpose of God, the Creator and eternal ruler of all things, who created us human beings on this earth.

People in Marunouchi are tired of being in companies and in society 365 days a year, being driven by competition and busyness day and night, and being expected to achieve results. Even when they return home, they find it difficult to spend time together as a couple or with their children, and even when communicating with colleagues and friends, they find it difficult to talk about their inner selves. There are many people in Marunouchi who are suffering in solitude and darkness.

Proclaiming the gospel of Jesus and the words of the Bible to such people and helping them come to know God will lead to a significant shift in their worldview and way of life. We believe that this will be a great power for business people in Marunouchi, the center of the Japanese economy, and its suburbs, to transform this country into the “Kingdom of God” as workers who serve God, their neighbors, and society.

Marunouchi Church Tokyo (MCT) is a church that will help carry out this plan of God. MCT is also an international church with many geopolitically-minded international business people and their families. It is a church where simultaneous interpretation is available in Japanese and English. Furthermore, MCT is a church of families who gather together and send their families to their local churches or to churches in the country or region to which they are relocating or moving. It is also a place of Sunday worship for business people who come to Tokyo on business, whether domestic or international, and is a “stop tree” church.

In Japanese local churches, people try their best to attend Sunday worship services, but have little contact with each other on weekdays. At MCT, however, people can gather not only for Sunday services, but also on weekdays before work, at lunch time, or after work, flexibly and easily, just like a coffee break, and have free time to discuss, enjoy the Bible, and pray. By doing so, people’s faith will deepen, and business and work based on faith will be put into practice. This is a church where you can experience that God is always with you.
